  • He replaced Russian boss Leonid Slutsky, who was sacked last week
  • His first match in charge will be at home to Brentford this Saturday 

Hull City have appointed Nigel Adkins as their new manager, replacing Leonid Slutsky.

Adkins, 52, has signed an 18-month contract at the KCOM Stadium as the Tigers aim to drag themselves away from a relegation fight in the Championship.

Slutsky was sacked last week after a run of seven matches without a win had seen them slide down the standings.
