There was talk of division in the Arsenal ranks when Alexis Sanchez scored for Arsenal against Crystal Palace when many of his team-mates turned their backs on him in December.

But Hector Bellerin has spoken about the incident and insists there was no deliberate show of disunity although Sanchez, who has since moved to Manchester United, could demand too much from team-mates.

Bellerin addressed the Oxford Union and said: 'There was one game against Crystal Palace.

Bellerin admitted to the Oxford Union that Sanchez could sometimes demand too much

'We celebrated a goal and some of the players went I stayed back, I was talking to Calum Chambers and others because there was some tactical stuff.

'For me, that was more important than celebrating the goal.'

One suggested theory had been that the Arsenal players made a show of refusing to join Sanchez after the goal as they were unhappy with his desire to leave the Gunners.

The frustration then boiled over and Sanchez, who is out of contract in the summer, gestured angrily towards his team-mates

Club legend Thierry Henry said he thought the celebrations indicated 'division in the team'.

Bellerin moved to smooth over the situation by explaining it was for tactical reasons but did admit occasionally Sanchez would ask too much from those around him.

'One of the best in the Premier League for sure but he is a player who always wants to win.

'He demands from everyone, sometimes it can be too much. The great thing is he wants to win, to give 100 per cent,' he added.
