Sunderland are showing interest in Bolton Wanderers striker Gary Madine.

The combative centre forward has been in good form for Bolton with his two goals against Barnsley last weekend helping to lift them out of the bottom three in the Championship.

The Black Cats, however, will need all the fire power they can get their hands on, sitting 23rd in the Championship.

Sunderland have lost one and won one since new boss Chris Coleman took over last month.

The former Wales boss will hope for a turnaround after Christmas in order to bump themselves out of the drop zone.
